First Annual Plant Swap

The first annual plant swap was a success.
Plants, shrubs, herbs and more were swapped between gardners. Everyone that came left with lots of new plants (did I mention, all free!).
All seemed eager to get home and plant them in their flowerbeds
and vegetable gardens. It was a great time.

My grandkids had a good time too.
Exchanging of advice and new friendship were formed.

Overall, it was a great day for experienced and inexperienced gardeners alike.
Hope to see you there next year!

News from the Cabin

The Cabin is blooming with beautiful aquatic plants. From marginals and bog plants to water lilies and lotuses. Tim ans I spent a day getting muddy and wet potting up the new lotuses, cardinal flowers, lizard's tail, corkscrew blue medusa to name a few. Thank goodness it was a warm, sunnny day!

I have to be careful now that The Cabin has fudge and dipped pretzel rods. It is so tempting to sample everything. The fudge is made by Holiday Confections from Warren,PA and is made with real butter not margerine.

Two weeks away until our First Annual Plant Swap! Please call if there are questions.

Spring is here!

The robins are nesting all around The Cabin's eaves.
Tulips and daffodils are peaking through the ground. The herb garden is cleared of leaves and the bee balm is coming up, along wit hteh awakening of my Jacob's Ladder. A new addition to the herb garden this year will be a chamomile bench. Yes, the bench "cushion" is chamomile! Very fragrant and relaxing.

Happy New Year ! The Cabin Country Store is beautifully covered in snow BUT the driveway is plowed with plenty of parking! We watched a playful mink behind the store the other day. Wyalusing Creek flows right behind The Cabin providing lots of wildlife for viewing.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Be prepared! Don’t wait ‘til the last minute! We are wondering if our ninth grandchild will be a “Valentine baby.”
